Hexagon Metrology strengthens its presence on the Czech market

Members of the Galika team have joined Hexagon Metrology Czech to increase the activities on the market for coordinate measuring machines (CMM)

Hexagon Metrology Czech, located in Prague, has signed a contract with Galika on the basis of which seven Galika employees from both, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, will join Hexagon Metrology. Thanks to their knowledge and experience Hexagon Metrology will significantly enlarge its presence on the Czech market for stationary CMMs. From now on the service of stationary DEA CMMs will be coordinated directly from the Prague office for Czech and Slovakia markets and from Cracow and Warsaw offices for the Polish market. The new employees will take care of sales, service and application support for current and potential customers. The team will help Hexagon Metrology to increase its presence on the Central European market whereas Galika will focus on further developing the metrology business in the CIS (Russia, Belarus, and Ukraine).

The contract between the two companies underlines their close cooperation. Per Holmberg, President Hexagon Metrology Europe, states: “For Hexagon Metrology the Eastern European countries including the Czech Republic and Slovakia are strategically important markets. The strengthening of Hexagon Metrology Czech will help us to serve these markets even better.” 

Hexagon Metrology Czech was founded in April 2007. The entity represents brands such as Cognitens, DEA, Leica Geosystems (Metrology Division), Leitz, Optiv, PC-DMIS, QUINDOS, ROMER and TESA. The company runs a service centre for trackers, as well, which serves as the service hub for the Eastern European countries. The close and successful cooperation with other partner companies including NMS, Metrotest and Gefos are not affected by the Galika –Hexagon Metrology agreement.

Galika, established in 1986, is a specialist in metal machining technologies and quality control. The company offers metal working and CMMs as well as training and service. Galika operates mainly in Western and Central Europe, Russia and the CIS. Its main headquarter is located in Volketswil near Zurich.
