Probing Systems & Styli
Probing Systems & Styli
For coordinate measuring machines the range is a complete offering of touch probes, manual and motorized probe heads, analogue scanning probes, change racks, extensions and styli.

CMS 106

The new CMS 106 laser scanning probe provides many benefits for metrology in a complete and powerful turnkey package via rapid point-cloud capture, including: Feature inspection to CAD (Thin walled / sheet metal parts), free form surface inspection to CAD and  reverse engineering.  The probe is available on Hexagon Metrology GLOBAL, ALPHA, DELTA, LAMBDA & BRAVO CMMs, allowing for fully automated system operation.

Optical Probes for CMMs

Optical probes expand the possible applications of a coordinate measuring machine. They are always used when the issue is the exact inspection, with the aid of light, of delicate parts that do not permit contacting measurement. These parts include, among other items, easily deformable components or circuit boards.

The CMM-Ve optical probe is compatible with a series of Hexagon Metrology coordinate measuring machines; this probe uses a two-dimensional CCD sensor.

Probe Extensions for CMMs

If the measuring depth is insufficient or measurements are necessary in places with difficult access, probe extensions provide assistance. Hexagon Metrology offers various Leitz and TESA brand probe extensions to increase the measuring range. Different lengths and diameters are available.

Probe Heads for CMMs

The probe forms the heart of every coordinate measuring machine. It generates the signals during probing. With their high accuracy and excellent scanning properties the Leitz LSP-X1, LSP-X3 and LSP-X5 probes are particularly outstanding here. They are specially matched to the dynamics of moving gantry measuring systems.

The key aspect of the DEA CW43L-mw servo wrist is flexibility,  the stylus can be aligned in any direction. The TESASTAR series rounds off the range of probes from Hexagon Metrology

Scanning Probes for CMMs

Scanning at its best - this is what awaits the user with the Leitz X series probes. With both the smallest representative of these scanning probes, the Leitz LSP-X1, and with the larger versions, the Leitz LSP-X3 and Leitz LSP-X5, it is possible to make all standard measurements such as discrete scanning, self-centring measuring and of course continuous high-speed scanning for fast, very exact shape and contour measurements.

Styli for CMMs

The range of Leitz and TESA brand styli from Hexagon Metrology is as varied as their applications. Whether ruby ball, hemispherical or cylinder - the contact to the workpiece can be made using various stylus elements. The product range therefore includes, among other items, hemispherical styli, cylindrical styli, star styli and also custom styli.

Tool Changers for CMMs

With Hexagon Metrology's range of tool changers you can perform fast and repeatable exchange of probe/extension/stylus combinations on the CMM measuring head. The benefit being fully un-manned inspection.

Touch Trigger Probes for CMMs

Where does the term touch-trigger probe come from? When the stylus comes into contact with the workpiece, a pulse is generated. Surfaces are scanned point by point with this method.  Hexagon Metrology offers various touch-trigger probes under the TESA brand; these probes are suitable, for instance, for the measurement of simple geometries.

The TESASTAR probe has an integrated ball stylus that can be aligned as required. Indexable probes are marketed as the TESASTAR-i series. The TESASTAR-p stylus is a module with integrated ball stylus that can be attached to numerous manual or motorised probes. TESASTAR-mp makes use of magnetism: mounting module and stylus body are joined together by magnetic force.
